It is 39 years since he gave that speech in front of a sea of people. In a time when the whole nation was overwhelmed in the counter-plea against the Pakistani rulers. There is no doubt only this speech has set up so much fire among the peoples’ mind and had such a great impact on our freedom fight that no other leaders could do that time. Well those historical backgrounds are
so much highlighted for a long time that I don’t feel any intention to discuss this here. Even I don’t want to tell anything about those shameless attempts in which our some leaders tried to avoid the importance of this great speech on our freedom.
I only will tell my feelings, that how I feel about this speech. Well I was born almost after 18 years of the speech. But still I remember the first time I heard this speech on television when I was in class 3. And I still remember the whole day I shouted “joy bangle! Joy bangla”. I was only a kid that time and the speech was so powerful that it entered deep inside my heart even that was the first time I heard it. I still believe that is the power of a great leader. That is the power of a great organizer. He who can enter anyone’s mind with only his voice, with only his words. I still believe this was the ignition point of our freedom fight. Yes there were the contribution of other people too. Many other leader has given their life to see us independent. And I , as a citizen of this nation always respect them. But in my mind, in my believe no one can ever touch Bangabondhu.
Still today when I hear the speech I feel like my blood is boiling, to conquer, to achieve, to win, to joy. And I believe as a leader no one could touch people’s heart with only his speech as Bangabondhu did.
Salute to the greatest leader, Bangabondhu.
